Frequently Asked Questions

What is the History of Eva Vix?

Before becoming an Aion pre-release guild, Eva Vix played as a guild in Warhammer Online, on EU server Karak Azgal. Eva Vix was one of the earliest guilds to be started for Warhammer, and was founded in November 2006.

On Karak Azgal we were widely regarded as the top guild on Destruction side, and helped destruction advance to the enemy capital multiple times.

As a result of our dissatisfaction with the direction of WAR and it's casual take on the MMORPG genre, we decided to stop playing MMORPGs until something slightly more hardcore came out.

Aion looked to be the top choice, and we have begun recruitment approximately 3 months before release, in order to establish a firm base on which to build come release.

We founded the guild in 2006 long before our target game at that point was released (Warhammer Online) so that we could fully prepare and be highly successful. Having achieved exactly what we set out to do in Warhammer, we intend to repeat our success in Aion.

Note - this site is the 3rd iteration - we have previously used www.evavix.co.uk and an even older design which has long since been retired. We plan to bring out a 4th iteration shortly.

Are you an Elyos or Asmodian guild?

We have decided to join the Asmodian faction on the basis that it will likely be the underdog faction.  We do not enjoy rolling on "zerg" factions, who win by superior numbers alone.

Are you an EU or NA guild?

We're an EU guild who accepts anybody whose willing to play on EU servers and join events at EU prime time. This may be a big inconvinience to NA players who wish to join us.

How does the guild view "role-playing"?

While the guild does not either discourage or encourage role-playing, members are expected to make in game decisions on career and race based purely on statistics and the benefits of the choice, with role-playing and aesthetics as a secondary concern at best. While some role-players may not find this to be restricting, we believe that the majority will find it limits one's ability to role-play.

How large will the guild be?

We plan to be large enough to field our own raid team (for both PvP and PvE). This means approximately ~30 highly active players or so. The guild leadership is quite experienced with taking pre-release into release guilds successfully, and to do this it is necessary to recruit more than the amount of final active players you wish to have, as some inevitable drop out for various reasons.

As such, we plan to recruit to a limit of about 50 pre-release and cut down to the necessary number before we begin playing the end-game after release.

We may consider expanding this to 2 full raid teams later on but 1 full raid team is definately what we plan to have initially.

Will the guild limit the classes members can play?

Of course not.

Can I add all of my characters to the guild or only my main character?

All of each members characters will be accepted into the guild, but we ask that you focus on one character as the one you play on the most, since this is the character you will use in both raids and PvP groups.

Indeed with a game like Aion, where the endgame is quite deep and character progression a focus, playing 99% of the time on one character is very important.

Why the name 'Eva Vix'?

Eva Vix (roughly translatable into the Vernacular as Victory in All Walks of Life or more simply Ever Victorious) was chosen as the name because it suits our guild's philosophy - to be the BEST. This we hope to achieve by first creating a community spirit amongst members, and then devising advanced tactics, analyzing character builds, learning the game, and other such activities.

Do you have a forum and/or voice chat servers?

Yes, and Yes.

Is this a Hardcore or Casual guild?

This is a hardcore guild. While members are not expected to be on 24/7, they are expected to be on quite often - at least often enough to participate in guild events. If logging on for a bit of a laugh for 20 minutes and the logging off and never thinking about the game until the next logon is the sort of thing you enjoy, you will not find Eva Vix to be a suitable guild.

Generally speaking, people should maintain a 75% activity rate (during event times in the evenings).

You are expected to be prompt for events, and try your best to turn up 15 minutes before the assigned start time.

You will ideally be flexible with these times, and be able to attend events that start earlier, or stay on later if we need to finish something.

What are the ranks within the guild? How is it structured?

We will maintain a simple rank structure with one Guild Leader, a handful of officers, and members, and then trialists. Depending on whether the game needs it, we'll likely also have class leaders.

What are the rules of the guild?

Eva Vix members are expected to be sensible, socially conscious people. The rest is simply common sense.

Other than that various policies cover how we run events, how we distribute loot, and what is expected of of EV members (and trialists). More detailed expectations are laid out in the applications section of the guild.

Why should I join Eva Vix?

Eva Vix has proven itself to have a strong core group of players from our success in Warhammer. It's members are both hardcore and skilled players, and if you join Eva Vix you will help build on this foundation in order to create a strong and successful team.

We also offer a friendly and active community of intelligent and social players - indeed a guild is a community as much as it is a regular playgroup.

Who do I contact the guild about joining?

Go to the forums and read the instructions in the "Applications" forums. You will be asked to post an application.
